POSITION PURPOSE: Within Student Affairs, the Department of Athletics services the entire community and its alumni. It is responsible for creating an institutional culture that is supportive of students. The department provides leadership in the development of services and programs that enrich student life, extend, and enhance the academic experience, and contributes to an environment that encourages personal growth and development.
Under general supervision of the Associate Athletics Director for External Affairs, the Promotions and Game Day Specialist performs promotional planning and game day operations for athletic events and competitions. Work is complex, broad in scope and has significant impact on the success of events.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE – Equivalent to bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or another related field. Minimum two (2) years of related experience in marketing, sales, public relations, or related field.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES (SKA’s) –
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: MEDIUM WORK – up to 40% of the activities involve sitting, standing, squatting, kneeling, or walking; lifting heavy weight objects limited to 50 pounds; may involve pushing and pulling objects within the weight limits.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
SCREENING: Only those applicants possessing experience most directly related to the immediate needs of the office will be invited to appear before a Qualifications Appraisal Board for the purpose of appraising training, experience, and interest in the position.
