Do you have what it takes to compete in the realm of King Neptune? The battleground of competition will be fierce, causing participants to dig down deep inside and rise above whatever stands in their way. The Virginia Beach Sports Center sets the stage for athletes to test their will at the highest level.
This state-of-the-art facility will host a diverse roster of sporting events and tournaments when it opens in November 2020. The venue is located across the street from the Virginia Beach Convention Center and just steps away from local shops, restaurants and attractions, including the beautiful boardwalk and beaches of the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.
The Virginia Beach Sports Center (VBSC) boasts 285,000 square feet of custom-configurable space, including 9 Field Hockey courts, 12 basketball courts, 24 volleyball courts, a 200 meter, hydraulically banked track, 64 wrestling mats, and seating for 5,000 spectators. Additionally, VBSC provides 5 meeting rooms and a 400-seat kitchen/concessions area.
The Virginia Beach Sports Center is managed by Eastern Sports Management (ESM) based in Fredericksburg, Virginia. ESM’s management portfolio consists of venues in Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee.
The Virginia Beach Sports Center is currently looking for a League Marshal. The League Marshall is responsible for ensuring safety for all guests at the VBSC, but not limited to players, coaches, officials, and spectators. The League Marshall reports directly to the Tournament and League Director and the Manager on Duty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Check rosters and player’s identification
Monitor and limit player sidelines to players, coaches, and officials
Ensure correct equipment is available for games
Make sure games start on time
Respond to all incidents, accidents, injuries, and altercations
Complete and file required reports
Keep Manager on Duty informed of issues and updates
Able to remain calm and focused in emergency situations
Monitor practice/games
Monitor facility and enforce Sports Center rules
Complete special projects and assignments as directed by the Sports Director, Manager on Duty and/or General Manager
Keep score as necessary
Requirements
Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written

Must be able to work irregular shifts to include, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
Must be able carry, kneel, lift, move, pull, push, reach, sit, squat, and/or walk for the duration of the shift (8 or more hours)
Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull heavy equipment.
